This is a great little loop in Leura if you’re after a short bushwalk that still feels like a proper adventure. The Pool of Siloam is a beautiful, shaded waterhole that’s surprisingly tucked away considering how close it is to town. It’s an ideal spot for a quick morning walk, a nature escape, or even something to do with the kids if you’re visiting the Blue Mountains.
The Trail
You can start the walk from the Gordon Falls picnic area, which has toilets, parking, and picnic tables nearby. From there, the track gently winds through lush forest to the Pool of Siloam — a peaceful, fern-lined spot with a small waterfall trickling into a natural pool. It’s a quiet, tucked-away spot that feels far more remote than it actually is.
After soaking in the views, continue the loop up through Lyrebird Dell, which passes a sandstone overhang and a second waterfall. This area was used as an Aboriginal shelter and adds a nice bit of history and variety to the walk.
If you’re after a longer route or a bit more of a workout, you can start from Links Road instead. This adds more stairs and a bit of elevation, making the walk around 4 km return. A good option if you want something a little more active while still keeping it manageable.
Final Thoughts
Short, quiet, and full of charm — this walk is perfect for a slower day in the mountains. The waterfalls, greenery, and peaceful bushland make it feel like a hidden little escape, right near Leura.
